Mattias Klum is featured on the cover of the autumn 2026 issue of Hopp, published by the Church of Sweden in Uppsala. In an in-depth interview, he reflects on curiosity, presence, creativity and our shared responsibility for the living world.

Under the headline “Curiosity as a guiding star,” Mattias Klum looks back on four decades of storytelling while describing a sense of curiosity that has only grown stronger with time.

The conversation moves from formative childhood experiences and the discovery of photography to questions of art, ethics, biodiversity and hope. Klum also speaks about his book Stigminnen, selected as the Archbishop’s Lent Book for 2026, and about the importance of creating space for wonder and presence in a world that often moves at great speed.
