Mattias Klum Interviewed by Fortune Greece

June 11, 2026

Fortune Greece has published a new interview with Mattias Klum, in connection with his role as Ambassador for the Goulandris Natural History Museum in Athens.

In the interview, Mattias reflects on four decades of visual storytelling, the relationship between art and science, and the continuing power of photography in a time shaped by social media and artificial intelligence. He also speaks about curiosity, authenticity, biodiversity, and why images can help us understand what is truly necessary.

“What makes an image unforgettable is less about beauty and more about its emotional or meaningful resonance,” Mattias says in the interview.

The conversation explores how art can ask questions, create wonder and inspire a deeper understanding of the relationships between people, nature and the systems that sustain all life.
